Terms & conditions
Last updated August 5, 2026
These terms cover your use of this website, operated by RankAiro Ltd, trading as Syntax Planet. Using the site means you accept them. They do not cover paid work, which is always governed by a separate written agreement.
What this site is
Syntax Planet is my personal and business site: essays, a description of the services I offer, and links to open-source projects. The essays are opinion and experience, written from my own work. They are not professional, legal, financial, or engineering advice for your specific situation, and reading them creates no client relationship between us.
No offer, no engagement
Anything described here, including any prices or timelines, is indicative and not a binding offer. No engagement begins, and I take on no obligation to you, until we have both signed a written agreement setting out scope, price, and terms.
Content and intellectual property
- The essays, page copy, logo, and photographs on this site are mine and remain my property.
- You may read, link to, and quote short passages with attribution and a link back. Republishing whole essays, or using them to train a model, needs my written permission.
- Code is different: my open-source projects at https://github.com/umarzahid028 are governed by whatever licence sits in each repository, not by these terms.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to this site or its hosting, and do not scrape it in a way that degrades it for anyone else. Otherwise, read freely.
Links out
This site links to third parties: GitHub, LinkedIn, and X. I do not control them and I am not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Availability and accuracy
I write carefully and keep things current, but the site is provided as-is. I do not guarantee it will be available without interruption, or that every statement stays accurate as tools and prices change.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for loss arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
Changes
I may update these terms. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.
