This site is run by RankAiro Ltd, trading as Syntax Planet. It is a personal site: a few essays, a description of the work I do, and links to my open-source projects. It collects as little as possible about you, and nothing at all that I could sell.
What this site does not do
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no pixel, no heatmap.
- No advertising and no tracking cookies. Nothing here follows you to another site.
- No accounts. The one form here sends you a guide you asked for. No newsletter and no sequence behind it.
- No third-party embeds. Fonts and images are served from this domain, so loading a page does not tell anyone else you were here.
What is stored on your device
If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key "theme". It never leaves your device, it is not a cookie, and it is not linked to you. Clearing your browser data removes it.
What my hosting provider sees
Like any website, requests reach a server. My hosting provider processes standard technical data (IP address, user agent, the page requested, the time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. I use those logs only for security and availability, and I do not build profiles from them.
If you email me
The links on this site open your own email client. If you write to hello@syntaxplanet.com, I keep that correspondence so I can reply and, where we end up working together, to keep a record of the engagement. I do not add you to any marketing list.
If you download a guide
The guides are sent by email, so the only thing collected is your email address. It is used to send the guide you asked for and to keep a record that you asked for it. There is no sequence behind it, no other email follows, and the address is never sold, shared, or used for advertising.
The address is stored with Resend, an email provider acting as my processor, and the guide is delivered through them. The download link in that email is signed and stops working after seven days. Ask me to delete your address and it is gone from that list the same day.
Legal basis and retention
Server logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in running a secure site. Email correspondence is processed to answer your enquiry and, if we work together, to perform a contract. I keep enquiries only as long as they are useful, and business records for as long as tax and company law require. The address you give to download a guide is processed on the basis of your consent, since you gave it to receive that guide, and I keep it until you ask me to remove it.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Email me and I will handle it. There is no separate form to fill in.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If I add anything that changes this, whether analytics, a newsletter, or a real form, I will update this page and the date at the top of it before it goes live, not after.
